Beauty Tips With Brushstrokes by Teju

Hello lovelies!!! I’m Teju and my journey to the more beautiful you has been a long and enlightening one. Today, I’ll be sharing a short story with you which probably resonates with a few of us these days.

It’s 7.30am and I arrive at my clients home in time for our 7.45am makeup appointment. As usual, I’m all set with my arsenal of products and work tools to begin the transformation.

The charming and sweet-natured lady walks out with a little purse containing her makeup and hands it to me saying “Please, if you don’t mind, I’d like to use my own makeup because I really don’t like a lot of makeup.” So, I happily oblige.

I proceed to lay out the items I need as we chat and get more acquainted. It turns out she has been married for 7 years and this was the makeup she put together to use during her wedding. Instantly, I begin to open them up one after the other, and my suspicions were confirmed – almost everything in it had expired and could not be used.

Well, here is how the rest of our conversation went as I did my best to intimate her on beauty product lifespans.

Makeup sponges should be stored in lower compartment of the powder case so it can air dry through the centre. Storing it over the powder causes it to cake up and smell after a while. If possible wash after each use, then throw away after a month of repeated use.

Hope these tips help because they sure helped her. 8 years later, her purse is always updated annually by yours truly…
