13-Year-Old Indian Boy Gets Support From Minister After This Photo Went Viral
A 13-year-old boy in India, Harendra Singh Chauhan, has received 500,000 rupees from a chief minister of the government, after a photo of him studying on the ground outside the City Centre metro station in Noida, India, went viral on Facebook.
In the photo, Harendra, is seen studying with a scale which he uses to weigh people to make some money in front of him.
According to The Times of India, the photo went viral after Harendra’s neighbor, Vikas Sharda, took and shared the photo. The post caught the attention of the chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, who decided to reward the young boy and help with his education.
Speaking at the presentation of the gift from the Chief Minister, Harendra said: “I am grateful to the chief minister. However, I do not want any other help as now that my father has got a job, I am confident he will be able to support me and my family.”
