Cow & Gate Recalls ‘My First Banana Muesli’ After Parents Found Maggots And Spiders
The manufacturer of the baby cereal, ‘My First Banana Muesli’, Cow & Gate has issued a product recall after insects were found in some bags of muesli by parents who reported their findings.
On a precautionary note, the British company warned parents not to feed their children packets with a ‘best before’ date of September 27 2016, in a statement posted on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website.
On its Twitter page, Cow & Gate said it had received a ‘small number of complaints’ about the batch of muesli and none of its other products were affected.
Issuing an official statement, Cow & Gate said: ‘We are very sorry that this has happened and can assure you that an immediate investigation has been initiated at our factory. The company has advised that this product should not be consumed, in case other packs in the batch are affected.’
