HOLIDAY TREAT: Homemade Swedish Ginger Cookies
By F.C.
Hey, mums! Christmas is almost here, so I thought to share this cookie recipe. Take advantage of the holiday to bond with your kids. It’s such a great time to have fun baking simple recipes and indulge their sweet tooth without much cost.
You’ll need
150 g butter
2.5 dl sugar
1/2 dl syrup (dark corn syrup)
1 dl water
1/2 tbsp ground ginger
1/2 tbsp ground cloves
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 tbsp baking soda
7.5 dl flour

How to prepare
Melt butter, sugar and syrup until smooth. Allow to cool to room temperature.
Add water, cardamom, cinamon, ginger, cloves, baking soda and flour. Mix everything together evenly to a smooth dough. Wrap the dough up in a plastic bag and let it sit in the fridge overnight.
Preheat oven 225°C. Cut the dough into 5-6 pieces. Roll the dough one piece at a time with a lightly floured rolling pin. Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut dough into desired shape using cookie cutters. Bake in oven for 5-7 minutes or until cookies are lightly brown. Enjoy with chilled smoothie.
