The Commanding Officer of the 3 Battalion Effurun Division, Major Azanku, allegedly offered N200,000 as compensation to the family of Mrs. Alice Akparobi Orobogha, who was shot dead by a soldier in Delta State to avoid legal battle after the family demanded the culprit be brought to book. The family however rejected the offer.
According to Sahara reporters, the deceased, a middle aged level twelve judicial officer with Oleh High Court, had been on her way to her daughter’s wedding when she shot by one of the soldiers deployed to enforce the no-movement restriction during environmental sanitation at Jakpa Junction, Uvwie council area of Delta State on April 30, 2016.
Her son, Shedrack Aktarobi, has appealed to the State and Federal governments to immediately intervene in the matter and ensure that justice is served.
200k? For what nah? Is dat what human life is worth now?
Justice must prevail
Hmmmm
Is a pity
Not nice at all.. haba!
I love this family for rejecting the money. What insult? You take a life and then offer 200k? This country is so lawless and shameless and has a very long way to go. Oh Lord.
The money is too small for compensation, besides you cannot buy life, so no amount of money is too much to offer the family.
Not good na
Lord have mercy
Miserable N200,000
They are not even ashamed to offer that meager amount for a life
200k ke.ontop human life
Shame
Even if you want to compensate the family, what 200k? That’s insulting.
Justice must be done.
