Family Recipe: One Pot Broccoli & Meat Sauce
By Faustine Christiansen
The weekend is here again! Another exciting time to share one of my yummy and easy to prepare recipes for the whole family. You can’t go wrong with this one pot broccoli and meat sauce. What’s more, it’s healthy and filling. Try it out this weekend.
Ingredients
Some meat (boneless and cut into bits)
21/2 cups chopped broccoli
1 tbsp sesame oil, preferably or oil of choice.
1/2 tsp pepper flakes
3-4 tbsp brown sugar
2 dl soy sauce
2 large beef bouillon cubes
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1-2 dl water
2-3 garlic clove (minced)
1-2 tbsp corn starch

How to prepare
Place meat in a deep cooking pan
In a bowl, combine sugar, oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, cubes, pepper and water
Pour mixture over meat and cook on a medium heat till meat is tender
Mix corn starch with some water and pour it over the meat and stir
Add broccoli and lower heat to cook for 5 minutes
Note that: sauce consistency may vary from the recipe, depending on how soft you cook broccoli to release extra water into sauce. Add more water if too thick or starch if too watery.
Adjust seasoning to taste. Serve with rice. Bon appétit!
