Read This Mum’s Emotional & Inspiring Note To All Mothers
A mum of two, Laura Mazza, shared this quite emotional and inspiring note to all mothers via her Facebook page. Read below.
Dear Mother,
I know you stand in the shower and read the labels from top to bottom.
I know you do all your thinking in there, you zone out in there, and you let yourself be free in there.
I know you wish showers could last hours.
I know you sit down to have a bite to eat and little faces wander up to you to share it. I know you give up your meal to those little faces, I know sometimes it annoys you a little bit.
I know when you go out, and you do yourself up, you feel like a rockstar, and you want people to know that even though you’re a mum, you’re still you and you can still put lipstick on and function
I know you dress up your children in cutesy clothes too so it looks like you have your shit together. God forbid you look stylish and they don’t.
I know heels are just no longer appealing anymore. I know your feet ache and your back aches and you fantasise about being massaged and have a whole night of sleep and a whole morning of sleeping in. Heels just do not fit in that equation. Even if you do dream of being Carrie from sex and the city.
I know some days you just cannot be assed doing anything, and you wish you could just go back to bed. And wouldn’t it be sooo good to just have a pyjama day, but a real one, where you can pig out and watch stuff on tv… stuff YOU want to watch
I know every Monday you start your diet… but somehow by Thursday you’re just so tired and chocolate just tastes so good. Never mind, Monday is coming.
I know sometimes you sigh, and you let out a big breath of a fuck this, and then feel so guilty because you just want the best for your kids but you’re so damn drained.
I know some days you are tired, you are lonely, and you are lost. But you don’t take it for granted.
I know sometimes you watch over your children when they play, like a hawk, because you don’t want them to get hurt, or for another little kid to push them. You know they have beautiful souls, you just don’t want anyone to hurt it.
I know you want some minutes alone but can’t bear to be away from your children.
I know, no matter what, you feel bad for thinking any of these things.
I know you shouldn’t.
I know you should look at yourself in the mirror, and stop focusing on those little wrinkles, those little grey hairs, those little chin hairs…or how your stomach looks in the light.
I know you give your love so effortlessly to everyone
But I know you need love too.
So now it’s time to give yourself a little dear mother, and remember you are deserving.
