Two Year Old Daughter Of Murdered Ikorodu Mum Finally Regains Freedom
Some days back, news surfaced about an armed robbery incident that took place along the Ikorodu axis of Lagos, leaving a number of persons dead and injured. You will recall that a mom named Aisha who was shot and left for dead, read here. Her two -year -old daughter, Farida, was subsequently kidnapped.
After the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, headed investigations to find out more details about the victims from their relatives, in order to assist in the police in their rescue mission and the arrest of the suspects.
The commissioner, speaking to newsmen from PunchMetro had this to say:
“We gathered that two lives were lost while militants were firing and that some persons were kidnapped. No family member of those involved has shown up. The relatives of the victims should report at the nearest police station. It is when we have information about the victims that we can act more decisively,”
An informant, close to the family, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told news men that the little girl had been released after her father struck a deal with the abductors.
“The father negotiated with the kidnappers and the baby was released. But he does not want to say anything about the incident for now. The police were not instrumental to the release of the girl. Faridah has been reunited with the family and she is very fine. The father does not want further publicity about the situation.” he said.
This was also confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Dolapo Badmos.
