New Photo of Former Conjoined Nigerian Twins, Miracle and Testimony Ayeni Will Put a Smile on your Face
1-year-old former conjoined Nigerian twins, Miracle and Testimony Ayeni who were separated during an 18 hour operation at a Tennessee hospital on November 8 at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, celebrated Christmas with their older sister, Marvelous and their parents Samuel and Mary Ayeni, in the U.S.
You may recall that Miracle and Testimony Ayeni, gained national attention months ago, after Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma, initiated a campaign for them after a hospital in Enugu refused to release their medical records (read here) to hospitals abroad willing to help with their surgery.
Mary attributed the birth of her twin girls to God and expressed an assurance that they were born for a purpose.
The couple, who celebrated their third wedding anniversary in December, had their first daughter, Marvellous, on November 19, 2013, a source revealed.
According to the mother of three, Marvellous has had a normal relationship with her siblings. The day Mary took her along to the hospital; she said Marvellous played with her sisters like any child would.
”After the birth, I was told that they were conjoined, but it was two weeks later that I saw the children face-to-face. I delivered the babies by caesarean section. While I was in the hospital recuperating, the babies were transferred to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital.
It was a week after that I went there to see them and I was happy because they are strong; it was just that they are conjoined.
Will I question God? What will I do as their mother? God gave them to me,” she said
The twin girls who were conjoined at the pelvic region (which is known as Ischiopagus) were born on November 16, 2015 at St. Patrick Hospital Enugu.
