Mother Livid After Daycare Worker was Caught Breastfeeding Her 3 Month Old Son

Kaycee Oxendine is hoping the police press charges against a daycare worker she claims was caught on surveillance footage breastfeeding her child without her consent.

ABC, reports that:

The recorded video from the security footage inside Carrboro Early School on Friday that shows a woman adjusting her top and bringing her 3-month-old son to her chest to breastfeed him.

Oxendine, who works at the same daycare as a pre-kindergarten teacher said her son’s teacher informed her he was constipated, when another woman working in the nursery asked if she could breastfeed the boy to see if it would help. Oxendine, reportedly told  her ‘No’, twice. Oxedine recalled the incident saying:

“She said that she had a son and did I want her to put my child to her breast and breastfeed? And I said no, that’s nasty. We don’t do things like that.”

She alleged that moments after she left the room, video shows the daycare worker picking up her baby and breastfeeding him for several seconds.

“As a mom, you’ve taken something from me, because I wasn’t able to defend my child, Oxendine said. I wasn’t there.”

According to Oxedine, the woman was fired on Friday, however, she wants her to face criminal charges because she had to rush her baby to the hospital after he became ill and began vomiting.

Her son who was born prematurely, is lactose intolerant and thus cannot have any milk products.

“To me, a criminal act was committed against him, not only did you put your breast to my son, you also made my son sick because he’s lactose intolerant. So you’ve put something in his body that his body can’t digest. I’m not angry at the childcare center. I’m very angry at the employee. I do hope that there’s justice for my son, Oxedine said.”
