Heartwarming! See how Toddler of Nollywood Director Lost in his School’s Inter-house Sport Race but Ended up Winning his Father’s Heart
Nollywood director, Imoh Umoren‘s 2-year-old son has become an Internet sensation after losing in his school’s inter-house sport race.
Imoh Junior had been competing in the toddlers category of his school, but as soon as he noticed his dad in the crowd trying to take a photo of him, he decided to run over to him instead, giving him a great big hug and ended up winning his father’s heart.
Imoh was able to convince the adorable youngster to get back in the contest and luckily, he ended up finishing with a fourth position and he wasn’t the only one who was smiling, his dad, who could not have been prouder, took to Twitter to share the excitement.
”My son finished 4th in the race because instead of running across the finish line he ran to hug me. Ah well won my heart,” he captioned the picture of his son.
However, regardless of winning the race or not, Imoh says that he wants to raise his son to be a gentleman and not someone who focuses on coming first all the time.
”I guess he’s used to ending most of his races at home with running into my arms. He was a bit disappointed that I wouldn’t join in because we always do it together, but he didn’t seem to care.
You know kids. For me, all my life I’ve always wanted a kid. My parents died when I was 13, so I had always craved that father-son relationship. And we’ve grown to love each other.
I used to think it was corny, but now I’ve become the corny dad,” Imoh told BuzzFeed News.
Though he didn’t finish first, little Imoh was overjoyed with where he placed in the race and was beaming as he and dad went for ice cream.
