UPDATE: Presidency Debunks Reports that President Buhari has Changed his Plan to Return to UK for Medical Check Up
According to PUNCH, Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, yesterday debunked a report by Sahara Reporters that President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled his medical trip to the UK and instead invited his physicians over to Nigeria to continue his medical checks.
The Presidency described the report as false.
“It is false news. We are not aware of the reported advance movements. The last time the president spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed,” Shehu said while speaking with newsmen.
Buhari returned to Nigeria on Friday, March 10th (read here) from his 49-day medical leave to the United Kingdom two weeks ago. While addressing his cabinet immediately after his return, he said he will be returning to the UK for follow-up checks “within some weeks”.
