Father-of-2, Lamar Odom Opens Up On His Drug Issue, Hospitalization & Recovery In Latest Interview
Lamar Joseph Odom, an American retired professional basketball player and member of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association, who won NBA championships in 2009 & 2010 and was named the NBA 6th Man of the Year in 2011, fell into coma in October 2015, and was hospitalized.
The former NBA star and ex-husband of reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian, Odom was on deathbed following a terrifying drug overdose at a Las Vegas brothel.
Odom, single dad-of-3 spent several days in coma after binging on cocaine, alcohol and an herbal sexual stimulant.
In the newest episode of the second season of Kevin Hart’s Cold As Balls show, Odom opens up about the incident.
Odom, 38, shared that his survival from his drug overdose issue, which had Khloe Kardashian by his bedside was a sheer miracle; he revealed further that he suffered 6 heart attacks and 12 strokes while in coma.
The fact that Odom now, is able to have a regular conversation with Hart — while soaking in a tub full of ice water, as is the show’s gimmick — does seem really miraculous.

During their chat, Hart asked Odom, who is now attempting to rebuild his life after the incident; whether he was “fully over the addiction” troubles that had reportedly plagued him for years, prior to his fateful stay at the Bunny Ranch.
Odom, who earlier this year announced that he was entering the cannabis business, said that he had, and that having gotten clean made him feel “great, every day [he’s] alive.”
“All my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle,” the former Lakers and Clippers player told Kevin Hart. “I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks when I was in a coma.”
“It’s a good day to be alive considering the alternative,” said Odom, who told Hart he is fully recovered from his addictions.

Odom spent all but 2 of his 14 NBA seasons with 1 of the 2 Los Angeles teams, winning a pair of NBA titles in 2009 and 2010. When given the opportunity by Hart, Odom did not blame the atmosphere in L.A. for any of the problems he had at the time.
“We make bad decisions, bro,” he said. “That’s all.”
