Bizzare Moment, Mom-of-2, Sandra Da Costa Macedo Fell From the 27th Floor While Taking Selfie

Bizzare moment a woman, Sandra Manuela Da Costa Macedo, 27, falls to her death from the 27th floor of a high-rise block at the Luxor Tower in the popular neighbourhood of Panama City called, El Cangrejoas when she leaned against the balcony rail while taking a selfie.

The paramedics rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised just after 10 am local time on Sunday but she was reportedly dead before thy arrived.

The woman was initially identified as a Portuguese holidaymaker who had just arrived in Panama, but another woman who claims to be her friend took to social media to state that Da Costa Macedo was a mom-of-2 who had come into the country to work as a teacher.

In a recent study by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, it was found that 259 people died while attempting to take a selfie between October 2011 and November 2017. The findings which was published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care also revealed that more than 72% of the deaths were men, and drowning was the most common cause of death during a selfie-taking attempt.
