Police Rescues Children Abducted From Lagos By Housemaid, ‘Busayo’ At Seme Border, Unravels More Details
The Nigerian Police Force has rescued two school children kidnapped last week in Lagos, somewhere in Benin Republic, on Sunday.
On November 26, 2018; the news broke out that a housemaid identified as Busayo had kidnapped her employers’- Mr and Mrs Aneru Mutana– children.
According to report, the couple who stay at Gbagada Phase 2, Lagos; had saddled the housemaid with the task of bringing the children -a 6-year old boy and a 3-year old girl- home from school that particular day.
Immediately the news of the abduction broke out, the Nigerian Police Force said it spread its dragnet to locate the housemaid who had given her name as Busayo, and appealed to Nigerians to report to the nearest Police station if there was any information about her.
Lagos State police spokesman, Chike Oti, who confirmed the recovery of the children, said investigation so far revealed that Busayo is a member of a kidnap syndicate that poses as house help to unsuspecting employers.
Oti stated:
“The Command reasonably believes that Busayo may not be her real name. However, it wishes that Nigerians should take cognizance of her face and alert the nearest Police formation of her location and if possible arrest and hand her over to the Police.”

The Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi has also warned households interested in engaging the services of domestic servants to beware of whom they are dealing with. Imohimi reiterates his earlier warning that employers ought to carry out a background check of persons they are bringing into their homes; and profile them in order to make investigation easy for the police should the need arise.
The Command went ahead to state their suspicion that the real name of the housemaid may not be Busayo but wants the general public to take cognizance of her face and alert the nearest police formation of her location or if possible, arrest and hand her over to the police.
