In a new episode of “Mercy’s Menu”, professional photographer and the wife of singer Timi Dakolo, Busola Dakolo joins Mercy Johnson Okojie in the kitchen to prepare Scrambled Eggs.
During the show, the two power women discussed marriage, parenting her kids, career, regrets, biggest fears as a mom, domestic violence and many more. Sharing the video online, the host and mother, Mercy says:
”My Kogi sister was in the kitchen with me in this episode. We made breakfast which is essentially the most important meal of the day, Scrambled Eggs was on the menu, and of course, you know it had to have a twist to it.
Enjoy the amazing episode with Busola Dakolo where she talks marriage, raising her kids and more. The food is sweet but the conversations are sweeter.”
On the challenge of motherhood, Mrs Dakolo, also a mom-of-three said:
”I guess it’s that aspect of trying to take care of yourself and also be there for the children. Motherhood is really challenging.”
On her biggest fear as a mom:
”It’s actually for my girls because I have two girls.”
You will recall that earlier this year, Busola levelled an allegation of rape against the founder and Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo in a tell-all interview revealing how she’s been affected by the cleric’s continued denial of forcefully having his way with her when she was only 17.
In a suit filed on her behalf by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi and Co of Law corridor before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the celebrity photographer described how the impact of that ordeal has lingered on since then and even after she got married.
Speaking on her biggest regrets in life on Mercy’s Menu, the cool mom said:
”I think I didn’t want to mature the way I matured…like the experiences. You know, sometimes I wish I wasn’t too exposed at a very early age. That’s something that I regret so much. So, I really want the innocence of my children be preserved. I want them to just be innocent.”
Advice for new brides:
”They need to be patient and prayerful. It has helped me a lot.”
On domestic violence:
”It’s something I feel once a man gets violent, the woman should just quit. It’s one aspect I can’t tolerate.”
This episode is truly an eye opener for those who want their marriage to work out.
