Celebrity Mum, Damilola Adegbite Pens Thought-provoking Piece To This Category Of Single Mothers
Nollywood actress, Damilola Adegbite has penned quite a thoughtful piece to a certain category of single mothers who still cease Fathers Day opportunities to celebrate themselves as fathers too.
Adegbite who was once married to Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh is of the opinion that mothers who intentionally block the fathers of their children off their lives should reconsider that decision for the sake of the kids.
This is coming shortly after her colleagues and single mothers, Tonto Dikeh and Mercy Aigbe wished themselves Happy Fathers Day, despite allegedly blocking their baby daddies off their children’s lives.
Mercy Aigbe, in her father’s day post on Instagram, gave reasons why she deserves to be celebrated on father’s day.
According to the mother-of-two, she plays the role of a father and mother in her children’s lives, so she deserves to be celebrated because it has not been an easy task for her.
Speaking further, the 43-year-old mom said that she sponsors her children’s education, adding that one is an international student and she pays her fees in dollars.
Damilola, who is also a single mother-of-one took to her verified Instagram page and wrote:
“There are 3 categories of single mothers: The ones whose children’s fathers cannot be in their life (E.g Dead, incarcerated etc)
The ones whose children’s fathers have abandoned them or who do more harm than good being a part of their lives (E.g Cases of domestic violence)
And then lastly, the ones who intentionally keep their children/child away from their father because they are angry, bitter, hurt and vengeful.
To “category 3” mums, today is a good day to reassess the situation. There are many awesome fathers who genuinely crave to be in their children’s lives but are not allowed to by their moms. Trust me, I understand how you feel.

May our children not grow up and blame us or despise us for depriving them of their fathers love.
Happy Father’s Day to all the AMAZING dads. You are loved and appreciated.”
