A mother’s impact in her child’s life is priceless. Former Tinsel star, Damilola Adegbite-Attoh, has taken to social media to celebrate her irreplaceable mum as she turns a year older today, 6th of March.

In honour of her mother’s special day, the grateful daughter and amazing mother of one shared a touching story of her mother’s impact in her life while growing up and how she single handedly raised her and her sister through school.

”It’s my mummy’s birthday today!!! Yaaaay. Thanking God for you mummy, now and always! You will live till you are a 100 years old, at least! You must enjoy the fruits of your labor. My mother went the extra mile as much as she could, to make sure my sister and I got the best. Growing up, there were times when we could only afford a meal a day. (Mmmm, story for another day) That one meal must be a balanced diet ????, no matter how small it was. I remember how hard it was getting into Queen’s college back then. She would leave home in the mornings and come back late at night, seeing everybody who could make it possible.

I had to go to a public school for the first year ( me I had lost hope) until my admission came in for my 2nd year. University was the same, how she single handedly paid my fees in Bowen University till today is a mystery. She can hustle sha. She is very gentle, but her spirit is so strong. She hardly ever sleeps through the night. She taught us how to get up and pray when others are asleep. I have learnt a lot from her. Even from some of the mistakes she made that she will always talk about. I love you mummy. (Even though we fight like hell ????????????) May the rest of your life be filled with immeasurable joy now and forever. ????????????????????????????????????.”

Damilola is happily married to Ghollywood actor, Chris Attoh.
