Here’s An Update On Chrisland Schools Scandal
The Lagos State Government has ordered the reopening of all Chrisland Schools in the state that were earlier shut down following the viral sex video of some pupils of the school.
The state gave the order for the reopening of the school in a statement released by the state Commissioner of Education, Folasade Adefisayo.
Recall that the state government had on Monday, April 18, ordered the closure of the school’s branches in Lagos state following the leaked sex video.
Some students of the school were taken to Dubai to represent the school in a sporting competition. However, they got there and engaged in ‘immoral acts’ that they filmed and also shared online.
A statement announcing the reopening of the school reads”
“The Lagos State Ministry of Education has directed that all Chrisland Schools shut for alleged misconduct of some students in Dubai be reopened from Monday, April 25th, 2022.
The directive follows a review of the ongoing administrative investigation into the incident. Besides, it is to ensure that students are not denied access to learning when the new term begins on Monday 25th April 2022.
The State Government shut the schools for the safety of students and the staff and to ensure unhindered investigation of the incident.
The Ministry of Education and other relevant agencies of the State, in conjunction with the school’s Parent Teachers Association, will be working on scheduled psychosocial support for the students.
An extensive assessment of the school’s procedure, especially on external trips and excursions, is being made to identify safety gaps and prevent such incidents.
Besides, the Ministry will launch the reviewed guidelines/protocols governing private and public schools across the state within the next one month.”
However, before the announcement of the reopening of the schools, parents of the pupils involved in the sex scandal and the school management, were invited by the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, where they were shown the CCTV footage of what happened in the Dubai hotel.
A video clip involving pupils of the school who attended the World Schools Games, went viral last weekend. At the games, which took place in Dubai, UAE, five pupils of the school: a girl and four boys, were seen in a s*x video.
A social media user, Adaure, who claimed to be familiar with the development, said the issue became known to the school even before the students returned to the country.
This was also confirmed by Shola Ogudu, the baby mama of Nigerian singer, Wizkid, whose son, Boluwatife, attends the school. Ogudu was also on the trip to Dubai with Boluwatife.
According to the social media user, even before the mother of the only girl involved in the scandal raised the alarm in a video that her 10-year-old daughter was raped under the influence of drugs, the school, in conjunction with the Lagos State Police Command and the Lagos State Welfare Department, had set up a panel to probe the issue.
According to Adaure, the Close Circuit Television, CCTV clips of all that transpired in the Dubai hotel where the team stayed had been made available to the parents and other stakeholders.
Adaure wrote:
“I’m just going to keep it at these points and not say more. The boys and girls were not kept in the same room.
They were not even on the same floor. There are 3 students in each room. Matter is being handled before now by the police , child right protection , the school’s PTA representative.
There is a recorded panel which involved the parents of the affected kids, and also the PTA representative, the Lagos state police and officials from Lagos child right services.
This incident happened in March this year while on a competition in Dubai. Chrisland has the CCTV footage of everything that happened in that hotel in Dubai.
The parents of these kids have also seen this footage hence the suspension. The teachers take turns to check on them at night CCTV showed this in the panel.
Information has it that:
She had s£x with just that boy no other boy she said this herself in the interview. Her parents were there too with the authorities present in that panel.
See AlsoThere was a boy sleeping in that video it was that boy that reported saying they are doing nonsense in his room.
When they came to warn her, she replied saying “what it’s just S£x I’m a big girl.
The Lagos state police has this particular video. The girl’s parents have been following through with the school and authorities until someone linked them to Instagram celebrities.
There is no where in the videos they have that it showed the girl being involved with another boy. It as just that boy so they are wondering what brought about the rape twist.
During the panel the kids confirmed including the girl that it was just she and the boy. Their parents were there including her mom. There is also no trace of drugs or giving her any substance… Even though we can’t say 100%.
The kids made the video for entertainment sake to be shared amongst themselves until someone leaked it online. Lemme stop here the stories are deafening.
Please before you quote and write epistles know that this case is already in the police and child rights services they have been privy to all of these before now. They have all the videos from Dubai and the recordings from the panel.
We really have to do our best as parents. For me its better that I did everything I could yet the kids chose to do otherwise than I didn’t do enough.
May God help us as parents as we train this hyper active super intelligent kids God gave us.”
The Chrisland Schools’ incident was one of the disheartening cases resulting from bullying and molestations in secondary schools of late.
Last November, a 12-year-old boarding student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, Sylvester Oromoni, reportedly died from injuries sustained after he was allegedly bullied and sexually molested by some senior male students of the school.
Karen-Happuch Akpagher of Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, had died of sexual molestation in June 2021 while Don Davies of Deeper Life High School, Uyo, had also narrowly escaped death in December 2020, when his mother raised the alarm of alleged sodomy of her emaciated son.
