Aisha Yesufu, Nnewi Man Respond After Nursing Mum Who Slapped Her Mother In-law In Retaliation Seek Advice As Her Husband Files For Divorce

Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu and many other Nigerians have reacted to the outcry of a Nigerian woman who sought the advice of netizens after her husband filed for a divorce over her disrespectful action towards his mother.

The married woman in a post sent to Facebook user, Angela Mel, claimed her mother-in-law came for Omogwu and has made life a living hell for her.

She said her mother-in-law went as far as saying her mother failed to train her well and in the process, gave her a slap. The nursing mum said in anger, she retaliated and slapped her mother-in-law.

She disclosed that this has caused a serious crack in her marriage as her husband has asked for a divorce.

Reacting to her outcry, an Nnewi man with the handle @Kene_Nnewi said it is wrong for women to talk back at their mother-in-laws, let alone slap her. He opined that if a mother-in-law misbehaves, the right thing to do is wait for her husband to return and then report to him, expecting him to do the right thing.

He went on to say that any woman who assaults his mum will either land in the ‘Mortuary’ or end up in a Coma.

Reacting, Aisha Yesufu condemned @Kene_Nnewi’s statement, saying marriage does not confer on anyone the right to be evil.

According to the married mother of two, her future daughter-in-law has the right to retaliate if she ever slaps her.

“I am old enough to be a mother-in-law and I have a son that can marry this minute if he so wish so I am more than qualified to speak on this issue.

If I should slap my daughter-in-law or potential one, she MUST ensure she gives me back double and walk away if my son supports nonsense. What the hell do you people think marriage confer on you? The right to be evil and wicked?”
