Speaker Hon. Tajudeen Abbas Enlightens Youths On The Need To Marry Their Friends
Nigeria’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has urged youths in the country to ensure they marry their friends.
Abbas gave this advice in Abuja on Saturday, May 11, at a book launch adding that marrying one’s friend will go a long way in avoiding a lot of marital issue.
Explaining further, the speaker who was represented at the occasion by Hon. Dickson Tarkighir, member of the House of Representatives, stated that since no one is perfect, only friendship could make couples overcome the troubles in marriage.
In his words:
“The wife is born and raised from a different background just like the husband. When you come together, what should bring you together is friendship.
“Once you are married to your friend, you won’t have any problem. You can overcome any problem once you allow friendship and the love of God to take precedence in your marriage.”

On his part, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who was also present at the book launch, said the family is an institution recognised and established by the almighty God, appealing to Nigerians to continue to show solidarity with the family.
“My appeal to Nigerians is to show respect, to show love, to show solidarity as family members. Nobody is perfect and we are capable of failing at times.
So, when we fail, we should be able to forgive one another and ensure the continuity of the family.
We need the family so that we don’t go extinct and that has been captured graphically in the book (being launched),”
he said.
