Father Challenges Societal Norms As He Cautions Son-In-Law Against Insisting On Outdated Traditional Marriage Values: ‘Who Told You Your Wife Has To Cook For You?’
A proud father has issued a stern warning to his son-in-law against causing issues in his marriage by holding on to outdated traditional marriage values.
The newly wed couple were at their wedding reception when the bride’s father gave a speech directed at his son-in-law.
The father in-law told his daughter’s husband that he should not believe in what our culture brings that as a man, his wife must have prepared his food for him before he returns from work.
According to the father, it is not right, adding that if his wife decides to cook for him (son-in-law), she’s doing it at her own volition and to make him happy.
Below is his statement:
“Don’t believe in what this our culture brings, that you as the husband, you are the head of the family, when you come, you frown your face, that you’re there as a father and you’ll be opening your hand, ‘Where’s my food?’
“Who told you that she has to cook for you? Nowhere. Nobody. It’s at her own volition; because she wants to make you happy, she wants to enter Aljannah, and she’s going extra mile.
“Wallahi, at times, when I go to my house, they say there is no food. My wife here, she can testify.”
The groom is seen listening intently as his father-in-law speaks while the bride is seen smiling proudly at her father.
