Why You Should Walk Out of Your Marriage if Your Partner Provokes You too Much – Mercy Aigbe Advices
Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe who was a victim of domestic violence (read here) due to abuse from her estranged husband, Lanre Gentry who is facing an assault charge, has taken to Instagram to share a photo of a woman allegedly battered by her husband, with a message to those going through similar incidents.
According to Aigbe, proud mama of two, ”If you feel your partner provokes you to the extent of bringing out that animal in you, please do yourself a favour by walking out of that marriage”.
Here’s what she wrote:
”According to Human Rights Activist lawyer Emeka Uguwonye….. This woman was battered by her husband! How long are we going to condone this inhumane act for? Some very shallow and evil minded fellows will say she must have done something to provoke the man!.
For Christ Sake, if you are provoked can’t you control yourself? Instead of killing your partner or rendering the person disabled!???? If you feel your partner provokes you to the extent of bringing out that animal in you please do yourself a favour by walking out of that marriage ????! ……
We should learn to control our anger as violence doesn’t solve anything…… If you know you have anger management problems, please get professional help!.
Battery and Assault is a crime punishable under the law!

Every woman should be empowered ????…….. The Success of a marriage should be a collaborative effort, Men please stop expecting the woman to do all! Remember it is a partnership!”
In reaction to this, her estranged hubby and father of her only son, took to his Instagram page to respond to Mercy.
He said:
”Que Sera; Sera,… What will be will be.
Sometimes we put so much effort trying to put broken pieces together. Take time to think; be appreciative of all situations and be grateful for whatever door that’s be slammed on your face.
Be grateful for what God has blocked. If you like stay; if you like you go. I will continue to say the truth.”
