Prophetess Okedairo Doesn’t Subscribe to Women in Politics – See Why

Mrs Tosin Abiodun Okedairo, a prophetess and gospel musician, who leads the Itana Ogo Ayeraye Gospel Music Outreach is of the opinion that women have no business being political leaders.

In an interview with Daniel Akeju of Tribune, she spoke on the role of women in nation-building, the essential ingredients needed to sustain a family, her calling, among other issues.

According to her, a woman needs to ensure she grooms her family well enough for it to reflect in the society, she believes if a woman goes into politics it will only rob her off the time of keeping her home.

“Women need to ensure they groom their families well, which would, in turn, translate to the society. However, when it comes to politicking, I do not subscribe to women taking the driver’s seat, as it is a daunting task which would rob them off their time when it comes to keeping their homes.”

Prophetess Okedairo as she is popularly known revealed that she is happy being a wife to her husband and there is peace and tranquility in her home as he is supports her music career too.

The doting mother also believes that doing things with your husband strengthens one’s marriage. Things like having a joint account as a couple is good for the home, according to her.

“I don’t see anything wrong with that. It is good for the home, children and for the couple’s future. However, the difficulty comes when one chooses to spend lavishly to the detriment of others in the family.”
