Veteran actress Shan George has reacted to the viral photos of a 70-year-old man who got married to a 15-year-old child in Niger state.

Sharing a photo from the wedding on her Instagram page, George expressed her disgust at any person or institution that supports child marriage.

The cross river state born actress has never hidden the fact that she first got married at the young age of 16, at a time she was supposed to be furthering her education, post secondary school.
From her accounts at different times, getting married to a much older man, and at that naive age came with its own psychological burdens, some of which are better imagined.
It is therefore understandable why she particularly feels the need to speak up against child marriages.

“My heart cant stop bleeding since i saw this wedding pix yesterday, i Detest any Man, Woman, Religion, Govt, Tradition or Anything under the Earth that would put a child like this under this kind of Eternal Emotional, Psycological and Physical Turture in d name of Marriage.
If this used to be ok during the Stone Age for whatever reason, Now is the time to stop this HORROR. Poor child, I cant deal, i’m traumatised.”
