See Reactions From Nigerians After They Were Asked To Purchase These Black Dolls
The image of ‘being black’ is something that has been met with endless prejudice, but that is something that black people are resisting already for years now. It is even become less fancy to buy your child a ‘white doll’ and many entrepreneurs have thought to design black dolls for the African or black child.

Quite obviously, beauty standards have tilted in favour of fair or white skin complexion, that much is evident in Nigeria with the popularity of bleaching creams.
However, campaigns in recent years by people and groups across different platforms preaching black skin and culture as beautiful has yielded immense positive results with the popularity of afro-textured hair and the glorification of melanin rich skin by black people the world over.

The cultural movement seeks to catch even the children young with the replacement of the more common ‘white dolls’ with straight hair, with black chubby dolls with features that look more like black children to help them appreciate their ‘blackness/africaness’.

But Nigerian Twitter user @kattoshuga took the initiative a little too far when she shared a photo of two very black dolls that she claims are made in Nigeria and for Nigerians, but other app users responded with horror because of the sheer blackness of the dolls.
