ICU Nurse, Antoinette, Shares Reasons Why COVID-19 Is The Worst Disease Process She Has Ever Managed
An intensive care unit (ICU) nurse has shared an insight into her daily routine of taking care of Coronavirus patients since the outbreak of the disease. The nurse, Antoinette, took to her Twitter account to share that a patient may have recovered and discharged, but there are possible long term health issues that they may have to tend to as a result of having contracted the virus in the first place.
In tweets @sheriantoinette shared, she stated that COVID-19 is the worst disease process she has worked with in her 8 years as an ICU nurse.
She also disclosed that patients who recover from the disease might need a lung transplant or may come back with a massive heart attack or stroke because COVID-19 makes the blood thick.
She tweeted;
COVID 19 is the worst disease process I’ve ever worked with in my 8 years as an ICU nurse.
When they say “recovered” they don’t tell you that that means you may need a lung transplant. Or that you may come back after d/c with a massive heart attack or stroke bc COVID makes your blood thick as hell.
See AlsoOr that you may have to be on oxygen for the rest of your life. COVID is designed to kill. It is a highly intelligent virus and it attacks everything. We will run out of resources if we don’t continue to flatten the curve. I’m exhausted.
