Seyi, who is the grandson of the late Nigerian nationalist Obafemi Awolowo, discussed the challenges of living with the Awolowo name, including instances where people doubted his dreams.
He explained how his Big Brother participation became a turning point, earning him the support he previously lacked.
The actor disclosed that his father disowned him multiple times due to the complexities of growing up in a polygamous family.
He added that his father had three wives and kept detailed files on each of his children, reducing their identities to mere names on a list.
He recalled his father writing letters to cut off his children, leaving them feeling disconnected and unloved.
“My dad disowned me a couple of times. Not just me, a couple of us, my dad married more than one wife. He married three wives. We all have files. As of right now, your name is just Seyi, full stop,”
he said partly.
