‘I Suffered To Win Her Love’ -Timi Dakolo Shares The Inspiring Story Of How He Met His Wife
Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo has opened up about how he met his wife, Busola, sharing an inspiring story of love.
In a recent interview with Pulse, the “Iyawo Mi” crooner revealed that their love story began in church.
The proud dad of three disclosed that Busola was not initially interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with him, but he remained determined to win her over.
According to Dakolo:
“I met my wife in the church. I went to her and asked her to be my date for a ball. She gave me her number but wasn’t picking up the phone when I called.
“I kept going to the area hoping to see her again. Then I saw her one day and asked why she wasn’t picking my calls, and she said her phone got stolen.”

The sensational musician said they became friends after that encounter, but he soon developed deeper feelings for her. However, Busola was hesitant and tried to friend-zone him.
“I refused,” he said. “I suffered to win her love. I was taking her to work to and fro.”
Dakolo also recounted a humorous but humbling experience when Busola felt embarrassed about being picked up in the branded Picanto car he won during the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007.

He said:
“She used to be embarrassed whenever I picked her up with the branded Picanto. I told her, ‘Don’t worry. I will shock you. Don’t look down on me.’ And I did.”
The couple got married in 2012 and have since built a beautiful family together, raising three children.
