Nigerian Man Shares Thoughtful Advise With Fathers On How To Raise Their Children: ‘So You Don’t Spend Your Old Age Lonely’

A Nigerian man, Afam, has shared some wise words with Nigerian fathers on how to raise their children in a way that they don’t start begging them for a relationship in their old age.
According to Afam in a post shared on social media, fathers should try their possible best to raise their children with love while instilling values and setting boundaries if they don’t want to spend their old age lonely.
Afam, who gave the advice on X, said fathers who act like “Brigadier Generals” at home, ‘carrying 1640 mindset’ in raising kids in this generation, risk alienating their children.
Below is what he wrote:
“Men, as you raise your kids, balance discipline with love. If you like, go be a Brigadier General at home like that troll suggests—just know you’ll spend old age lonely, begging your kids for a relationship. The choice is yours: lead with wisdom or regret it later. Udo!
“People that don’t understand that generational change is real. Carry 1640 mindset come dey raise kids for 2025. Your eyes go peel.”
