SAD: See How Father Unknowingly Got Shot By His Son

A teenager Malachi Heisler fearing for his mother’s life and with only seconds to think shot a masked intruder holding a gun to his mother’s head only to discover later it was his dad.

According to Mirror, Malachi’ father John Heisler had broken into the house to speak to his wife when the incident occurred. Malachi’s mother Jolene Andrews had obtained a temporary restraining order against the dad following another armed break-in attempt

18-year-old Malachi said: “I had about five to six seconds to make a decision, by the time I did recognise him, the decision was made.”

Police revealed that John had broken into the home by smashing the windows and wore an all black outfit including a mask. Investigators also stated that they are still looking into the case but do not expect Malachi to face any charges.

The attack came about five months after Malachi’s mother obtained a temporary restraining order against him for another armed break-in attempt. Authorities said the order had been extended until May 2016. Heisler was not only prohibited from entering the home but he was also banned from possessing weapons.

Reacting to the incident Pinellas County sheriff Bob Gualtieri said: “When you open the door and you see somebody dressed in all black, in fatigues, with a ski mask on and a gun in your mother’s face, he did the right thing.”
