Oby Ezekweli Takes Up Sugabelly’s Alleged Rape Case

Following allegations made by blogger, sugabelly, accusing the sons of the late APC gubernatorial candidate in Kogi, Prince Abubakar Audu and his friends of rape (read here), human rights activist, Oby Ezekwesili, has expressed her support for the young lady.

Sugabelly, whose real name has been revealed as Lotanna Igwe Odunze, had narrated how Audu’s three sons and their friends raped and tortured her severally for months; her narration trended on social media and generated quite a lot of reactions.

The former Minister of Education and Bring Back Our Girls campaigner took to her Twitter handle where she revealed her shock at knowing and being friends with the blogger’s mother during their undergraduate days; without having any idea of any of the trauma her friend’s daughter had allegedly been subjected to. Although the man in question, Mustapha Audu, admits that he had a relationship with the blogger; he says her claims of rape and forced orgies never happened.

In a series of tweets, Ezekwesili pledged to take up the young lady’s case with efforts focused on establishing the facts in her story.
