Heartbreaking! 3 children Abandoned as Lagos Court Jails Parents
Three children of the same parents, four-year-old Kudirick and a set of twins, Taye and Kehinde, who are two years old, have been abandoned in the Mushin area of Lagos after their parents were arrested and remanded in prison custody by a Lagos court.
PM Express reports that Taofik Aremu and his wife, Latifat, were arraigned before a Lagos Task Force and Magistrate court for committing different offences and have been remanded in prison for the past five weeks.
The mother of three was remanded at Kirikiri prison while Taofik is at a prison in Badagry.
Unfortunately, their innocent kids are left to their fate at 13 Agoro street in Mushin where they reside.
It was revealed that the ordeals of the embattled parents started when Taofik went to work and was arrested by the Lagos State Task Force. He was subsequently arraigned and remanded in prison.
Lafifat, on the other hand, had a disagreement with their landlady who dragged her to the Police at Olosan division in Mushin over rent. She was charged before Ogba Magistrate court where she was granted bail but there was nobody to stand as her sureties because of money .
According to reports, the landlady, Iyabola Oladokun, asked her to move out from her rented apartment despite having an existing one year rent.
They had an exchange of words and the landlady went to the police station where she reported that she was insulted by Latifat. The police arrested her and charged her to court.
At the court, she pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in the like sum. She was remanded in the custody pending when her nail can be paid.
When the matter came up on Thursday, it was further adjourned till 15 April 2017.
At the court, their neighbours brought her kids but she wasn’t granted access to them.
She wept bitterly before she was taken back into police custody.
