Female Teacher Nabbed For Having Sexual Relationship With Schoolboy Says He Pursued Her

A former female teacher and mum-of-1, Jennifer Caswell, 29, defended her sexual relationship with a 15-year-old pupil, saying the boy pursued her when she was vulnerable and their relationship was consensual.

The divorced mum told Dr Phil in May: “I’m not a monster and I’m not a predator. I made a stupid decision.”

Caswell, from Hollis, even confessed that she saw herself marrying the schoolboy.

In a police report, she said: “I was in a very unhappy marriage and I received little to no attention from my husband. While working at Hollis Public Schools I started receiving attention from a student. I reacted poorly and irresponsibly.”

She has now been sentenced to 10 years in jail after pleading guilty to six counts of second-degree rape, child enticement and forcible sodomy in June.

Judge, Richard Darbym, of Harmon County, Oklahoma, handed down a sentence of 15 years in prison with five years suspended and eligbility for parole after eight-and-a-half years.

She will also have to sign the sex offenders register.

Her attorney, David Cummins, however, reportedly said he was surprised by the severity of the penalty, and told NewsOK: “I can’t say that we had ever considered it being that harsh.”

Caswell is also being sued by her victim’s father for $1million.
