On a last note, domestic violence is not the victim’s fault as the victim cannot be held responsible for the choice of the abuser. It is clear who is committing the violence and it is not the victim. The abuser consciously chose to attack the victim.
To blame the victim does not only show a lack of common sense but shows support for a “damaged man” who is too wounded to control himself. Victim blaming contributes to a culture of denial and ignorance in which abusers are allowed to thrive.
