A father allegedly hit his 6-month-old daughter twice in the head with an open hand because she would not stop crying until she lost consciousness and later died.

Dekari Castell admitted to police that he hit his daughter, Kali, twice in the head with an open hand before she lost consciousness.

He told police he was highly stressed as a result of being without power during the hurricane and that his daughter would not stop crying.

Kali was rushed to the hospital on Sept. 13 after paramedics were called to the Lescot Lane home. Police say she died the next day.

According to OrlandoSentinal reports, an autopsy showed that baby Kali had severe skull fractures.

Castell has however was arrested on Monday on an aggravated child abuse charge, according to Orlando police.

The father of one was taken to the Orange County Jail where he is being held without bond.

Castell initially told police he dropped her on accident, but he changed his story in an interview and admitted to hitting the girl on Monday.

He was the subject of a Department of Children and Families investigation after his 4-week-old son suffered a broken femur in September 2016.

Castell’s mother Kari Castell said in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel on Sept 15 that her son loved Kali and would never hurt her.
