Is Marriage to a Foreigner One of Inconvenience? Two Men Share Their Thoughts on Facebook

In response to a comment on Facebook criticising marriage to foreigners, a man, Mazi Ojoto, narrated his ordeal with his Igbo wife to disprove the claim that marriage to a foreigner is a ‘marriage of inconvenience.’

According to Ojoto, after he flew his legally married wife from Nigeria to Dubai, she reported him to the Dubai authorities for sexually molesting her which led to his arrest and time in jail.

Ojoto’s Facebook comment came after anothe Facebook user, Pat Achuks, described the recent marriage of a Nigerian to an Asian woman as “marriage of inconvenience.”

Commenting under a wedding photo of a black groom and his Asian looking wife, Pat had written…

“Marriage of inconvenience. A black man will never be accepted no matter how he tries by whites. That boy is playing with fire, believe me, you will hear his cry based on experiences white women no be mai mai o” ,Pat Achuks wrote.

Ojoto was quick to reply him with his own experience of marrying a Nigerian woman, while trying to make a case for men who marry Oyinbo women.
