Don’t Be A Victim! Check Out List Of Traffic Offences And The Hefty Fines They Incur
Following the signing into law an executive bill on traffic, waste management, and environment by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has released a list of traffic offences and their attendant fines.
While some offences carry huge fines and imprisonment and training at Lagos State Driving Institute, there are some offences that provide for the seizure of the cars, trucks, motorcycles of traffic offenders.
LASTMA in a tweet urged all residents of the state to “Ensure to #ObeyTrafficRules at all times #ForAGreaterLagos”.

Just last week, Lagos State Taskforce forfeited cars that passed through the one-way in Ikeja, citing paragraph 65 of the Lagos State Traffic Code, those who are caught will have to forfeit their cars to the Lagos State Government and may likely be jailed for one year according to what the law says.
Next time you’re tempted to break any of the traffic rules, remember this list and the huge penalties you’re liable to pay if caught.
