The General Overseer and Founder of the Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has reportedly agreed to take in the child alleged to be his by a lady identified as Miss Imaobong Loveth Sunday.
It should be recalled that last week, Miss Imaobong had taken to social media to allege that the renowned clergyman is the father of her son.
The 22-year-old woman claimed to have engaged in a sexual relationship with the Apostle leading to her pregnancy.
The woman, who was a member of his church, detailed their involvement, asserting that the encounters took place while she was residing in his residence.
Speaking openly in a video, the woman disclosed that Apostle Chibuzor, despite being aware of her engagement to a man, engaged in sexual encounters with her on multiple occasions, with a notable absence of protection (condoms), leading to her pregnancy.
According to her, the married clergy offered her a substantial sum of N10 million to keep their unholy relationship secret, which she rejected.
Speaking further, she mentioned another lady who has a child for Apostle Chibuzor. According to her, the other lady is currently based in Lagos State.
Following the allegations, Apostle Chibuzor came forward to respond to it. He vehemently denied the allegations, saying he’s being blackmailed. He characterizing the allegations as baseless and an attempt to defame his character.
He expressed shock and disappointment at the accusations, emphasizing his commitment to upholding moral values and the teachings of his ministry.
However, on Friday, September 1, 2023, newsmen were allowed to hear directly from Apostle Chibuzor who cleared the air on the issue that has drawn attention and criticism, especially from the clergyman’s followers worldwide.
One Bishop Sodje Masodje led other pastors to the residence of the acclaimed man of God over the ongoing trending news.
During a press briefing, Apostle Dr. Chibuzor told newsmen that he would not deny any child because his parents never denied him.
In his words,
“I have affected lives, I have over 500 children in my house, free schools for the less privileged ones, have over 4.000 ( four thousand) Persons under scholarship all over abroad.
I felt so shocked and unhappy over the allegations of Miss Imaobong loveth Sunday. Only God knows how I have been supportive of her, and I can’t say much.
I have forgiven her and I have agreed to take in that child as my own and also shoulder his responsibility. Please tell Loveth to bring the child for me.”
