Late Nigerian music star, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known by his stage name, Mohbad’s aunty has cleared the air on reports of his mother abandoning him during his childhood.
Following the death of the 27-year-old superstar, reports started making rounds that the singer’s mother abandoned him and his elder sister after her crashed marriage to their father.
Speaking in the Yoruba dialect in a viral video sighted by us, the woman debunked claims that her sister abandoned her children at a very tender age with their father.
She went on to reveal why her left Mohbad with his dad at the age of 12 when her marriage ended.
According to her, the singer’s mother only left him and his elder sister with their father, because he didn’t allow her to take them with her, but they agreed to take care of them together.
She added that her sister was always in contact with her three other children under her ex-husband’s care after she left.
She noted how Mohbad’s mother was there for him during his trials with his former label boss, Naira Marley, and how she stood by him and his wife when they welcomed their son.
The woman further went on to explain that Mohbad had warned them when he was alive not to come out on social media to speak about what he was going through because of their safety.

Reacting to it, many noted how the mother was present alongside their father, to beg Naira Marley during their dispute.

In an interview with TVC, Mohbad’s mother spoke on her last moment with the singer, revealing that she never told anyone she was his mother because he was afraid she would be kidnapped or killed.
Contrary to report that she never had a relationship with her son, she was close to him and he had bought her a house, shop and even made a promise to her before his untimely death.
She disclosed that the singer lived in fear and never enjoyed his life till he died, and two days before his death, he had begged her to stay with him, but she refused for some reason.
