Why Photos of Brides Forced To Write Final Year Examinations On Their Wedding Day Is Powerful
Two brides have been forced to pause their respective wedding ceremonies to enable them write their final year papers.
According to an Instagram post by a handle that goes by the name @johnogiofficial, the Mass Communication Department of Benue State University is in the news again as two graduating students of the Department wrote their last examination Com 402: Media Law and Ethics in their wedding gowns today, Saturday April, 7, 2018.
In a society where most attach a woman’s ultimate worth to marriage, these brides are sending the message that wedding days are just as important as other things such as academics and women do not have to choose one over the other.
The exam which was scheduled to hold today clashed with the bride’s wedding date. As the examinations could not be rescheduled due to standard academic practice, the brides were mandated to take a break from their respective ceremonies to come write their final examinations.
The photo below was published by the course lecturer, Dr Benjamin Ogbu, a renowned academician.
Looool. I hope they wrote well. Congratulations to them.
