Viewer’s Discretion: Fresh Details Emerge on How Alizee and Her Daughter Were Murdered by Her Husband
A Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday remanded Peter Nielsen, who was accused of killing his wife, Zainab Ali- Nielsen a.k.a Alizee and their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Petra.
Chief Magistrate Kikelomo Ayeye remanded the 53-year-old Danish national, in Ikoyi Prison, following an application by the police.
Punch learnt that Nielsen’s plea was not taken as he was docked on a two-count charge of unlawful killing. He was represented by Frank Udoka Amah.
Effiong Asuquo, a chief superintendent of police, tendered a three-page application, containing 15 grounds for Nielsen’s remand in prison.
“There is overwhelming forensic evidence linking the defendant to the assault and murder of his wife and daughter. Investigation has also shown that the defendant was habitually violent to his late wife, Zainab” he said.

According to Asuquo, a prosecutor, a fight broke out between the couple in their flat at about 3:00 a.m. on that fateful day. Nielsen was allegedly seen fighting and hitting the deceased’s head on a wall by her two relations, Mimi, 11, and Faith, 13 who lived with them.
She died from injuries sustained from the assault. The prosecutor alleged that Nielsen then poisoned Petra before dragging her body into the kitchen.
Mr Nielsen allegedly committed the offences at his residence at Block 4, Flat 17, Bella Vista Tower, Banana Island, Ikoyi.
“The accused who was always at loggerheads with his wife had hit her head on the wall several times leading to her death.
Upon the wife’s death, the defendant administered poison on the little daughter who also died. He then dragged the dead body of his wife to the kitchen and took the lifeless little girl and put her under the mother’s body.
He then put on gas stove burners in the kitchen so that it would be believed that the wife and daughter were suffocated by the cooking gas,” the prosecutor said.

The offences contravened Sections 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 and carries death penalty.
“The offences, which the defendant has committed, are capital offences and thus the defendant needs to be remanded in prison pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions and proper arraignment and trial before the High Court.
“It is in the national interest that the suspect remains in prison pending legal advice and his arraignment and trial at the High Court,” he added.
The accused initially denied culpability in the murder, stating rather that he woke up to find the bodies in the kitchen and that they could have been suffocated by gas.
The case has been adjourned until May 8 pending advice of the state’s director of public prosecution.
Popular singer, Harrysong, has also joined the list of Nigerians calling for justice over the death of the Nigerian artiste. Alizee was billed to perform at Harrysong’s ‘Kingmaker Concert’ at the Warri Stadium in May.
A native of Kogi State, Nigeria, she was set to promote her January 2018 single, ‘Alhaji Musa’, before the alleged murder. The 29-year-old singer signed a two-year record deal with an Asian record label, Petra Entertainment, in 2017.
The deal reportedly earned her a new Ford Explorer SUV, a house on Banana Island and international distribution with affiliates of her record company in Asia.
I am so pained that he not only killed his wife but an innocent kid too. Justice must prevail.
