Rapper Eve Opens Up About Her Fertility Struggles & How It Made Her Feel Inadequate
When your body doesn’t work like you think it should, it’s natural to feel like you’re “broken.” The women of American talk show The Talk, have been opening up about their different struggles with the aim to let their viewers know that they aren’t the only ones going through life challenges. On an episode, American rapper and host on the show, Eve opened up about her fertility struggles and how it made her feel inadequate.
According to the 40-year-old star, she didn’t talk about her issues with getting pregnant because for a very long time she felt “shameful” and that struggling to conceive made her feel like less of a woman. She shared in part,
”As a woman you just think things happen naturally and I felt like I was damaged. I felt like I was broken. I felt like, oh maybe I wasn’t good enough… it’s a very sad hurtful thing, but the more I hung onto it the worse I actually felt about it about myself.”
It’s not surprising that Eve didn’t share her fertility struggles with the world so openly at first. It’s not common for women to speak about infertility, and that is especially apparent in the black community. According to the CDC, only 8% of black women between the ages of 25 and 44 get medical help to assist in their pregnancy journey. She further said:
”Since I’ve shared, people have been so sweet to me. Even in the audience people have actually come to me and hugged me and said you deserve it and it’s going to happen for you. So, thank you to the audience here.”
The rapper is currently married to a billionaire, Maximillion Cooper who has four children from his previous marriage.
Eve had a long history in entertainment- first as a rapper, then as an entrepreneur, as an actor, and now as a talk show host. As an actress, Eve is known for her roles in the Barbershop Films, and on the UPN sitcom Eve. She has also achieved success in fashion, with her clothing line, Fetish.
And in November 2017, she got into the world of talk shows, as she was hired as a permanent co-host on The Talk.
Eve’s husband is a British entrepreneur who is worth $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. He and Eve married back in 2014 after four years of dating.

Eve and Max, Gumball 3000 founder, met at a Gumball 300 rally in 2010 and the Philadelphia born rapper would be the first to admit that their relationship has changed her for the better.
“Being married has changed me in a lot of different ways. It’s funny because I’m a really fiercely independent person and I always have been. Being married, you have to relinquish some of that,” she once told Cocoa Fab.
Not in a bad way but in the way that you need to sit back and trust your partner to be able [to] help you with things. Sometimes my husband has to say to me, ‘Chill. You’re my wife now. I can take the ball from here. Don’t even stress.’”
