Nollywood Star, Ameze Imarhiagbe’s Tips On How To Deal With Envious Friends Is Worth A Read
Envy may be defined as an emotion that “occurs when a person lacks another’s superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it.”
Friendships characterized by jealousy or envy may become toxic over time, and that is why veteran Nollywood actress cum producer, Ameze Imarhiagbe has listed a few ways to deal with envious friends.
According to the movie star, people need to run as far as their legs could carry them away when it is obvious they have an envious friend around the corner, and never look back or buy into their ways of saying they are proud and do not want to associate.
Ameze made this known via a video she shared on Instagram noting that running away from them isn’t pride but survival.
Below is her full post…
“You know how you can help your envious friends? Don’t! You just don’t! Actually, stay away from them. Run as far as your legs can carry you! It’s not pride it’s called SURVIVAL!
Here’s why: They are the ones with the problem. They have the hang ups. They are the ones who cannot deal with your successes and your growth & advancements in life.

They accuse you of doing “big man” & being proud and not wanting to hang with them. Don’t be fooled! Don’t buy into that lie; they are the ones who don’t fit into your life anymore.
They are the ones who hate their own lives and are unhappy and so can’t stand to see you happy. So, what do they do? They start to whine and complain and bad-mouth you to make you feel bad, guilty & ashamed.
Well, honey, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You made it! Your hard work paid off! Those who are in your corner will continue to celebrate your successes. Those are your real friends. As for the others…ehen… let them continue to whine.
You will never win them over. They were never in your corner anyway. Let them do what they do best (complain) and you do what you do best (succeed). Just keep on moving and making it in life.”
