BBNaija Star, Maria Chike Sets The Record Straight As She Addresses ‘Husband Snatching’ Allegations
For the first time since news made rounds that Big Brother Naija ‘shine ya eyes’ former housemate, Maria Chike Benjamin was dating a married man, Kelvin Anene, the reality star has remained mute about it.
In October last year, celebrity barman, Cubana Chief Priest took to social media to drag Maria as he accused her of snatching his sister’s husband and ruining her marriage.
He revealed that his sister, gave up the marriage after discovering that her husband, Kelvin, sponsored Maria’s entrance into the Big Brother Naija reality show.
Cubana Chief Priest added that his sister had gone to Dubai to visit her husband, who had refused to pick her call and eventually met Maria at his house wearing his T-shirt.
He further revealed that Kelvin was responsible for Maria’s Instagram page during the reality show and introduced her to entertainment executive, Paul Okoye and warned her never to send his sister threats after moving out of her matrimonial home.
Finally telling her truth, Maria stated that because she has been quite on the whole husband snatching issue doesn’t mean she is weak.
The reality star stated that she didn’t ruin anyone’s home and her silence is the best for so many people involved.
According to her, because she hasn’t said her peace doesn’t make her weak, she is only respecting so many people who are involved.
She posted on her handle:
“And I’m going to address this once and only this once, I’ve been quite on the whole husband snatcher issue, I did not ruin any home, my silence is for the best of so many people involved. That I haven’t said my peace doesn’t make me weak, I am respecting so many people involved and their privacy.”
Earlier, Maria had aired her thoughts about marriage. She shockingly revealed that she doesn’t desire to get married.
For Maria, marriage is a scam. However, she stated that she desires to have kids but she would do so whenever she is ready.
Maria made this known as she answered a fan’s query on why her beau, Kelvin is yet to propose to her.
“Kelvin should just propose if he has not don that yet. Icu’s will flood,” the fan tweeted.
Defending him, Maria tweeted back,
“I don’t want to get married though that’s the truth! Marriage is a scam. I do want babies soon though when I AM ready”.
