Mum Who Sold Her 2-Month-Old Baby For N450,000 Tells Why
According to NAN, one Rose Edward, 51, has been nabbed in Akwa Ibom for allegedly buying a 2-month-old baby for N450,000. The mother’s baby, Comfort Effiong, was also arrested.
Revealing why she sold her baby, Comfort said,
“I sold the baby because of help; I don’t have anybody to help me. My father is late and my mother is sick and I don’t have anybody to help me.”
Briefing newsmen through the state command’s spokesperson, ASP Cordelia Nwanwe, on Saturday in Uyo, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Murtala Mani, revealed a homeopathic doctor, Eneyo Nyang, was also found to be an accomplice and has been arrested.
He added that Edward, who is from Rivers, confessed she bought the baby because she needed one of her own and warned members of the public wishing to adopt children to follow due process.
So not having help is enough reason to sell your baby? Big lie. Why didn’t she just put the baby up for adoption? She needed the money. Wicked mother.
