Hollywood Mom, Viola Davis Wins Her First Oscar Award!
Sunday night at the Oscars marked a huge win for Viola Davis. Not only did she take the award for Best Supporting Actress for her critically acclaimed work in ‘Fences’, but the star made history.
Following her Oscar win, the proud mom of one has now made history by becoming the first black woman to win an Oscar, Emmy and Tony award for acting.
2017, has indeed been good to Davis, who also was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. (read here)
A very teary eyed Davis gave an emotional speech in honour of her first Oscar win. Read excerpts below:

“People ask me all the time, what kind of stories do you want to tell, Viola? And I say, exhume those bodies, exhume those stories. The stories of the people who dreamed big, and never saw those stories to fruition.
I became an artist and thank God I did. We are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life. Here’s to (playwright) August Wilson, who exhumed and exalted the ordinary people.”
Davis, also took to Instagram by posting a photo of herself alongside her husband and daughter expressing her sincere appreciation to them. She wrote:
“My family. Thank you everyone for your love and support!”
