Six-year-old locked in first-floor classroom JUMPS from window 20ft up

A six-year-old schoolgirl jumped out of a first-floor window and broke her leg after her teacher forgot she was there and locked the classroom door.

Little Natalia Przystupa was still packing her bags at the end of the day when the teacher went off for a cigarette.

Desperate Natalia opened the window and called for help. But when no-one came to help she panicked and jumped, falling 20ft.

Natalia was found unconscious on the concrete below and taken to hospital in the city of Zawiercie in southern Poland.

Her furious dad Mariusz, 33, said: “The school director called to say that Natalia was in hospital with a broken leg. When I got there she told me what had happened and I couldn’t believe it. What sort of teacher locks students in a classroom? For now the most important thing is that my daughter gets better, but I want an apology.”

He added: “It can’t be that a teacher leaves a child inside a locked classroom and goes for a cigarette.”
