Body of Missing 3-Week-Old Baby Found In Rubbish Bin

The body of a three-week-old baby has been found dumped in a rubbish bin after her parents were injured in a shooting.

According to Mirror UK, little Eliza Delacruz was reported missing by police in Long Beach, California, after they were called to a triple shooting on Saturday evening.

Officers found the baby’s mother, father and uncle seriously injured inside the house.

The mother and uncle remain critically injured, but the father is in a stable condition.

Police announced the three-week old baby girl was missing and offered $1000 (£700) reward for her safe return. But tragically, on Sunday, her body was found in a rubbish bin behind a restaurant in Imperial Beach.

“Although little is known about the suspect, detectives do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence,” the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement.

“The preliminary investigation leads detectives to believe an adult male suspect fled with the infant immediately after the shooting occurred.”

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The mayor of Long Beach Robert Garcia wrote on Facebook: “To the person or persons who are responsible for the death of baby Eliza Delacruz, our police officers will find you, arrest you, and bring you to justice.”
