Gaza Conflict: 4-Year-old Hassan Who Lost Immediate Family In Blast That Shattered His Leg May Never Walk Again

Face contorted with pain, little Hassan cries out after being lifted on to the hospital bed for treatment to his horrifically shattered left leg.

The four-year-old might never walk again after being badly wounded in an Israeli attack on Gaza which also left him without a mother and father.

His heart-breaking experience is just one of the thousands of tragic stories that keeps the summer’s Gaza-Israel conflict alive, filling each day with fresh trauma.

Hassan’s uncle Salman, 24, cuddles the boy who cries, barely aware the doctors are there to help.

But just being at the hospital brings memories flooding back of the dreadful day his life was blown apart.

He only stops crying when a female aid worker passes him a Transformer Robot toy. For a moment he is transfixed, wiping his tears on his black bomber jacket.

Hassan never talks about the explosion caused by an Israeli shell that destroyed his house and killed his mother, father and sister. But he has a constant reminder in the shape of the metal scaffolding screwed into his limb, holding it together as surgeons try to help him recover.

Sad!
